Vis Telimus, an orphan with a hidden agenda, infiltrates the prestigious Catenan Academy in the Catenan Republic, a society where the lower classes must cede their Will to those above them.

Tasked with uncovering secrets that could dismantle the Republic, Vis must navigate the academy's ranks, solve a murder, and search for an ancient weapon, all while maintaining his hidden identity.

As he rises through the ranks, he must pretend to conform to the Republic's demands, knowing that discovery means death.
