Wreylith by Lindsay Buroker — book slip

More than a century before the adventures of Princess Syla and Captain Vorik, Queen Erasbella is kidnapped by pirates on her way back from the engagement luncheon for her arranged marriage.

To make matters worse, fire-breathing dragons are lurking in the area, aiding the villains. If Erasbella can't find a way to outsmart, seduce, or outright slay the pirate captain, she'll never make it home.
