The Third Ring by A.N. Horton — book slip

In the walled city of Sanctuary, society is divided into hierarchical rings, with the elite fervently worshipping the Geist and the poor living in fear. Adrian, a Third Ringer, has always tolerated the gods rather than worshipped them.

However, she is thrust into the Trials, a brutal series of physical and psychological challenges imposed by the gods.

Paired against her will with Dante, a First Ringer who embodies everything she despises, Adrian must navigate religious zealots, a patriarch intent on exploiting their union for power, and the cruel whims of the gods.

Together, they confront the harsh realities of their society and the betrayals that lurk around every corner.
