Sky Shielder by Lindsay Buroker — book slip

Princess Syla never imagined she'd be the last hope for the Garden Kingdom. After the magical sky shields protecting the capital are sabotaged, leaving the castle in ruins and her family slain, Syla is thrust into a world of danger.

With assassins on her trail and only an aged bodyguard for protection, she must navigate a treacherous path. Enter Captain Vorik, a dragon rider from a faction claiming to seek peace.

Though he helped destroy her family, he now offers his protection. Can Syla trust him, or is he there to kill, spy, or seduce her? As threats close in, Syla must outwit Vorik to save her kingdom and herself.

For fans of romantic fantasy adventures, Sky Shielder is the first in the Fire and Fang series.
