How it starts

Lauren's Barbarian is the first book in Ruby Dixon's Icehome series, a spin-off of the Ice Planet Barbarians series. Lauren, a human woman, finds herself stranded on a tropical island on an icy planet, separated from her group and in the company of K'Thar, a four-armed alien who doesn't speak English but communicates effectively through body language. As they navigate their growing connection, Lauren discovers that the island is a perilous place, with an active volcano threatening their survival.
