How it starts

Kate Winters has always been close to her mother, but now her mother is dying. Her mother's last wish is to return to her childhood home in Eden, Michigan. As Kate starts at a new school, she meets Henry, a mysterious and mesmerizing figure who claims to be Hades, the god of the Underworld. Henry offers Kate a bargain: if she agrees to live with him and pass seven tests, he will keep her mother alive. If she succeeds, she will become Henry's bride and a goddess; if she fails, she will face dire consequences. Kate is skeptical until she witnesses Henry bringing a girl back from the dead, making the impossible seem possible. First in the Goddess Test series.
