How it starts

Callie Penrose is a wizard in training, working under Roland, a Vatican Shepherd, to master her magical abilities. Despite her disdain for churches, she trains with Roland, who once saved her from monsters. When Roland is injured, Callie steps up as an interim Shepherd, facing a bidding war against Nate Temple, a billionaire wizard.
