How it starts

Darrow is a Red, a member of the lowest caste in a color-coded society on Mars, where he toils underground believing his labor will make the planet habitable for future generations. However, he discovers that humanity has already colonized the surface, and the Reds are nothing more than slaves to a decadent ruling class. Driven by a desire for justice and the memory of lost love, Darrow infiltrates the Institute, a training ground for the elite Gold caste. There, he must compete for his life and the future of civilization, determined to bring down the oppressive regime from within. First in the Red Rising Saga.
