How it starts

Raised by a father who curses the day she was born, Carolena finds herself in the swamps of south Louisiana, trying to escape a forced marriage. Her journey takes a dark turn when she catches the eye of a local family of brothers, leading to her capture. Fleeing into the wild swamps, she inadvertently attracts the attention of Carnage, a volatile and dangerous gargoyle. Carnage, intrigued by her bravery, decides to protect her from the pursuing brothers, claiming her as his own. As Carolena navigates the dangers of the swamp and her new captor, she must confront her fears and the possibility of finding unexpected safety in the arms of a creature of nightmares. ⚠️ Contains mature themes.
