How it starts

Ten years after the kingdom of Jasad was destroyed and its magic outlawed, Sylvia, the hidden heir, has been living in obscurity to avoid persecution. Her quiet life is disrupted when Arin, the heir to the kingdom of Nizahl, arrives in her village searching for Jasadi rebels. A momentary lapse exposes Sylvia's magic, capturing Arin's attention. To save herself, Sylvia agrees to become Arin's Champion in the Alcalah tournament, a deadly competition among the remaining kingdoms.
