How it starts

Arianna, a demi-fae bartender in London, is trying to live a quiet life with her human best friend, Ciara. However, her past as a supernatural gladiator catches up with her when Ruadan, a silent and lethal shadow fae, attempts to assassinate her. Ruadan offers her a deal: join the Institute of the Shadow Fae and compete in deadly trials to become a knight, or face execution.
