How it starts

Queen Nysera Flameborne refuses to rule from safety while monsters slaughter her people. Then a rift tears her from her dragon and casts her into Velthara, where she wakes imprisoned beneath the Blackspire by King Azren Valecar. Each blames the other’s realm for the attacks. But Velthara is bleeding too, and Nysera’s Dragon Fire may cure the corruption the monsters leave behind. With both kingdoms nearing war, captor and captive are forced to fight side by side. Every battle strips away another reason to hate, until protecting each other becomes a betrayal neither crown will forgive. The rifts spread. Their histories fracture. Nysera and Azren must find the source before their kingdoms destroy each other. The Sundering is only the beginning.
