How it starts

Violet, a young woman with gypsy heritage, has always been labeled as different—'Death Girl,' 'Crazy Gypsy Girl,' 'Gothic Chick,' and even 'Monster.' After her mother's death, she begins to uncover the truth about her abilities to see the dead and the dangers that come with her lineage. Guided by men who are more than they appear, Violet is thrust into a world filled with monsters, realizing this might be where she truly belongs. However, she finds herself in the midst of an ancient story, unfamiliar with its workings, and under the guidance of the most lethal beings who decide matters of life and death.
